PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
René Baudouin Soulga has over eight years of experience in International Development and humanitarian program management with United Nations Specialized Agencies, including the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the International Organization for Migration, focusing on food security, livelihoods, and humanitarian responses for migrants. Holding Master’s degrees in Project Management and Humanitarian Action Management, he has successfully supported the implementation of complex programs in developing countries like Burkina Faso, managing a CAD 1M+ budget, overseeing monitoring and evaluation, and producing high-impact reports. Bilingual in French (native) and English (intermediate), René excels in sustainable program implementation, stakeholder engagement, and donor management, making him a strong candidate for any Non Profit Organization.
  • As part of the Government of Canada’s Volunteer Cooperation Program, funded by Global Affairs Canada and offering Canadian citizens the opportunity to contribute to international development initiatives in countries of the Global South, I am remotely carrying out a mandate with CECI (Centre for Study and International Cooperation) in collaboration with its partner MAP Afrique in Benin. This program aims to strengthen local capacities and promote sustainable economic development, particularly among vulnerable populations in Benin.

This mandate involves supporting local organizations in empowering women economically, primarily in the sectors of livestock, agriculture, forestry, and ecotourism, while integrating gender equality, diversity, and climate change adaptation imperatives.

I operate in a context marked by deep gender inequalities and major environmental challenges, such as soil degradation, which threaten sustainable development. My strategic role includes designing and implementing innovative strategies that foster women’s economic empowerment. I develop effective management tools to optimize monitoring and capitalization of funding opportunities, while supporting partners in the development of programmatic models that enhance their strategic foresight and facilitate access to resources.

On a personal level, this mandate further strengthens my commitment to contributing to a more just and equitable world that respects and values diversity in all its forms, particularly through the promotion of equity, inclusion, and the advocacy for underrepresented and minority groups.
